From today, the world’s number one luxury goods company  LVMH is launching its “Village of excellent trades” , a 100% digital event that will offer 400 work-study contracts in France in the group’s “houses” for the start of the 2021 academic year.

“Created in 2014, the LVMH Institute of Excellence Trades is part of a wider scheme, LVMH Excellence Trades, whose mission is to transmit, enhance internally and promote unique know-how in creation, craftsmanship and sales,” the group said.

The digital format will allow the audience to be extended to a national level and will be accessible for one month from today, LVMH announced in a press release.

“Supporting the young generation, continuing our commitment to accompany them by continuing to train them in this particularly difficult period is a priority for our group,” said Chantal Gaemperle, Director of Human Resources and Synergies for the LVMH group, in the release.

To mark the launch of the plateform, LVMH is announcing a new partnership with the Ferrandi school, which prepares students for careers in gastronomy and hotel management and which will involve more than twenty apprentices in September.

The event will feature sessions on leather goods, design, jewellery and more, led by specialists. Indeed, the professions of excellence represent more than 150 creative, craft and sales professions within the group of 75 “houses”.

Among the various events, “Discovering the leather goods professions” will be hosted by Fabrice Lundy of Classic Radio and will include Quentin Brenier (Training advisor for soft materials at the Compagnons du Devoir et du Tour de France), Floriane Couillard (Head of industrial and supply chain training at Louis Vuitton) and Emmanuelle Siret (Referent for the know-how school at Louis Vuitton).

For the design professions, Fabrice Lundy and Célia Penavaire (Les Echos) will welcome Alexandre Boquel (LVMH, Director of Development of Professions of Excellence) and Rick Diby (Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche, Recruitment and Human Resources Development Officer).

This virtual fair offers the opportunity to dialogue with current apprentices, tutors and recruiters from the LVMH companies, as well as experts from partner schools and universities, which will help prepare for the key stages of the recruitment process.

Interested participants can apply for over 400 work-linked contracts in these Trades of Excellence, covering creative, craft and retail skills.

Since its creation, the IME has trained more than 900 young people, with a success rate of 97% in 2020 and a placement rate of nearly 78%, the majority of which are within the Group’s Houses or with external partners.
