After the GranTurismo, it’s time for the Grecale to go electric at Maserati. While the styling of the internal combustion model is largely retained, the SUV is equipped with an electric battery and motors.

It’s still a long way to go, but it’s at least greener with electric. Maserati continues its path towards electrification by transforming its Grecale SUV. You need to have a good eye to distinguish the thermal model from the electric one because it is in the details that the Trident brand has imagined technical and aesthetic changes.

The front grille of the electric version of the Grecale has a new design. First of all, the three gills on the front fenders and the logo are covered with a copper color. The wheels are specific and benefit from a design that favors aerodynamics.

The biggest difference is on the stern, which is obviously without exhaust pipes. Inside, it’s almost impossible to distinguish the slightest change. It’s only once the key is in the ignition and the screens are turned on that the metamorphosis becomes apparent. The instrumentation and the different menus are specific to the electric model.

The change, it’s right now

It’s finally under the hood that the new Grecale reveals itself. The electric SUV features a huge 105 kWh battery, which offers a range of 500 km in the WLTP cycle (new cycle to measure fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of light vehicles, ed. The charging power is capped at 150 kW. With 557 horsepower and 820 Nm of torque, the Folgore 2.0 is said to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds.

Although its main features and design have been unveiled, this new Maserati model will only be marketed in 2024. It the time to (maybe) leave the place to its competitor, the electric Porsche Macan.
