[Luxus+ Magazine] Who is Andrey Rublev, the winner of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000?

The Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev won yesterday against Holger Rune. He wins his first Masters 1000 trophy after two failed attempts at the final in 2021. Focus on this young tennis talent.

 

In the final of the Monte Carlo Masters 1000, the 25-year-old triumphed after more than two and a half hours of play (5-7, 6-2, 7-5). Facing him, Holger Rune, a 19-year-old Danish tennis player, went through all the emotions before admitting defeat.

 

Faced with an unpredictable and nervous opponent, Andrey Rublev played, while being a spectator of his opponent’s repeated nervous breakdowns.

 

At the beginning, Holger Rune seemed to be on the right track, winning the first set (7-5), thanks to Andrey Rublev’s missed break points. But soon, the Dane got carried away by his emotions and the determination of his opponent, sometimes giving the impression of not controlling the ball.

 

Finally, Andrey Rublev, who had himself lost to Stefanos Tsitsipas in 2021, did not steal the final. He was able to get the better of his opponent progressively throughout the two and a half hour match, and is finally in the big leagues.
