The 2021 edition of Watches and Wonders will be a major event of the year for the watchmaking industry. It will take place over 10 days, both digitally and physically. Initially postponed from 2020 to 2021, the event is divided into two parts, from 7 to 13 April, with the digital edition of Watches and Wonders Geneva and from 14 to 18 April, with the physical edition of Watches and Wonders Shanghai.
For the first highlight of the show, 38 prestigious Houses will be brought together for the first time on a single digital platform,, watchesandwonders.com, for Watches and Wonders Geneva.
To date, some of the leading houses that will be participating in the Digital Fair include : Lange & Söhne, Armin Strom, Arnold & Son, Baume & Mercier, Bovet, Cartier, Chanel , Chopard, Fabergé, Ferdinand Berthoud, Girard Perregaux, Grönefeld , H. Moser & Cie. Hermès, Hyt, Iwc Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Laurent Ferrier, Mmb&F, Montblanc, Panerai, Parmigiani, Patek Philippe, Piaget, Purnell, Rebellion Timepieces, Ressence, Rolex, Roger Dubuis, Rudis, Sylva Speake-marin, Tudor, Ulysse Nardin, Vacheron Constantin.
During these first seven days, when the main players in the watchmaking industry will be in the limelight to present a preview of their 2021 novelties, spectators will benefit from much more than a simple platform.
For example, from the platform they will be able to connect directly to the e-commerce site of the Houses, but also to take part in parallel events – virtual visits to the manufactures, happenings, virtual evenings, meetings with the ambassadors….
Indeed, everything has been organised so that visitors can experience Watches and Wonders “wherever they are in the world and whatever the platform. From Geneva to Shanghai, as if you were there,” according to the press release.
The programme will include the launch of new products, major announcements, panel discussions led by industry experts on topical subjects such as eco-responsibility, innovation, digital transformation, etc….
Also, every morning at 8:30 am CET, the Morning Show will take place, a daily 30′ live broadcast, accessible to the public, to decipher all the news from the Show.
The physical edition of Watches and Wonders Shanghai will follow at the West Bund Art Center and will host 19 participating Houses including Chopard, Montblanc, Rolex, Tudor and Ulysse Nardin as new entrants.
Only the media, retailers and VIP clients of the exhibiting Houses will be involved for the first two days. The following three days will be open to the public and other watch enthusiasts, by invitation only.
Visitors will have the opportunity to preview the new products reserved for the Chinese market and to see some of the products presented online in Geneva.
The Auditorium will host an extensive conference programme with panel discussions and interviews led by industry experts.
The LAB, a space dedicated to innovation, will present the new technological initiatives of the brands. Not forgetting the trade demonstrations that are always popular with visitors.
