This year’s Watch Pro 2021 will be held at The Londoner, a brand new five-star hotel in Leicester Square, London. Many exhibitors, enthusiasts and collectors will be present at this unmissable event for the luxury watch industry.
The Watch Pro show is one of the most prestigious showcases for the world’s finest watch brands. It is also, and perhaps above all, an opportunity to meet talented independent watchmakers, and to try on pieces from the greatest brands.
But this year, Swiss watchmaker Charles Girardier will be taking centre stage, presenting a range of watches from his Signature Mystérieuse line. This will be the first time that this watchmaker, who won the first Geneva watchmaker prize with a women’s complication watch at the 2020 GPHG Awards, will be presenting at the show.
It must be said that the Charles Girardier workshop has come a long way. Long dormant before the entrepreneur Patrick Ulm took over the reins and resuscitated it, the brand had been in the wilderness for a long time. Now it is trying to reinvent itself, notably through the modernisation of its watch straps.
There is one model in particular from Charles Girardier, which will be exhibited at the Watch Pro Salon, that deserves special attention. It is the 1809 Dark Grey 37mm, a mechanical watch for women, which will also appeal to those who wish to have jewellery on their wrist. The watch is decorated with sixty diamonds set in the bezel, while the brand’s G and C signatures are made of gold and diamonds. Additional stones are added to draw attention to the six o’clock position.
Some forty other exhibitors will be present at Watch Pro 2021, including Allemano, Laurent Ferrier and Victorinox.
