Because of financial difficulties and controversies it faces, the American lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret has cancelled its next fashion show.

The decision was also made because of the drop in audience. Indeed, in 2014 the show attracted 9 million American viewers, while in December 2018 they were 3.3 million.

The confirmation was made by L Brand group, owner of the brand, along with the company’s poor quarterly results, at a press conference on Thursday with financial analysts.

In addition, Victoria’s Secret has been the subject of numerous controversies that have contributed to making the brand’s image a “woman-object” spirit, out of step with a demand for diversity on the podiums and an awareness of the attacks suffered by models.

Sales reached 900 million euros in the third quarter, a decrease of 7% and some thirty stores belonging to the brand closed.
