Victoria Beckham, whose critically acclaimed and award-winning fashion collections, spoke Friday during a conference organized by Vogue in Paris. The businesswoman said she was diversifying her activities by creating her cosmetics line.

When she launched her first clothing line a decade ago, the former Spice Girl said the industry was much harder to break through than she had ever imagined.

I was very aware of the preconceptions, being married to David Beckham, being a Spice Girl, I knew the eyes would roll,” she says.

Victoria Beckham cited the late Karl Lagerfeld, former Chanel Artistic Director, and Italy’s Valentino Garavani as two designers who helped her, before declaring that the notoriously fierce fashion industry had also surprised her.

Beckham also said that its brand will soon produce skin care products, make-up and perfumes, perhaps next year.

The Beckham brand was in the red in 2017 ed-danmark.com. It raised £30 million ($38 million) two years ago from NEO Investment Partners to get back on track.

Cosmetics is a secondary activity that is often very profitable for luxury brands, and major groups such as Kering, Hermès and Gucci have understood this by making their product ranges accessible to a greater number of consumers.
