Timothée Chalamet becomes the new face of the Bleu de Chanel perfume

Chanel has chosen one of the most fashionable actors of the moment to be the new face of its Bleu de Chanel perfume. Timothée Chalamet, the young Franco-Canadian actor, revolutionizes genres in his own way.

Timothée Chalamet, the 27-year-old actor in many films such as Dune Part 2 or Wonka, succeeds Gaspard Ulliel by becoming the new face of Chanel’s Bleu perfume.

He was seen shooting mid-April in the streets of New York in mid-April. What to intrigue passers-by and fans of the actor … A film? A series? And no, it was simply the new Chanel campaign for its iconic Bleu de Chanel perfume, directed by the famous American director, Martin Scorsese. This commercial will be released next fall.

In order to wait before discovering this artistic project, the advertising campaign, under the artistic direction of photographer Mario Sorrenti, will be released next June. Some shots are now available.

Bold style

This is the first time since his debut in the world of the 7th art that the actor lends his features to an advertising campaign. During an interview with Vanity Fair, he confides in this choice: “As a passionate director and drama, collaborating with a fashion and beauty house that has such a vast and rich history with cinema means a lot to me“.

The Parisian House made official this partnership yesterday morning by declaring in a statement: “With his bold style and natural charm, he embodies the visionary and avant-garde spirit of the next chapter of Bleu de Chanel: a man who does not limit himself to the ordinary boundaries of life and who looks beyond the decrees of the visible“.

But if Chanel chose Timothée Chalamet, it is not only for her natural charm. Indeed, the young actor and darling of Hollywood does not fall within the usual norms of the film industry. He is young, thin and hairless. Exit virility and hello inclusiveness. In addition to his talents as an actor, the artist knew how to impose his difference by distinguishing himself by the choice of his outfits and the ease he acquired over the years, on his way of appropriating fashion.

Last year, he arrived on the red carpet of the Venice Mostra with a satin vermilion set, signed Haider Ackermann. With this bare back that he wears so well, he attracts all eyes and makes invisible all his comrades and colleagues. Besides this androgynous look, he does not hesitate to choose costumes apart from the usual diktats: colorful, sequined or with a touch of femininity, he definitely has a very high fashion capital for his young age.

A new incarnation of masculinity that breaks existing codes. Timothée Chalamet dares, and it works. And that’s why he was the perfect person to embody the new essence of Chanel.
