Thierry Marty has been appointed President of Kering North and South-East Asia Pacific

Luxury goods group Kering announced this Friday the appointment of Thierry Marty to the newly created position of president of Kering North Asia and South East Pacific, effective October 1.

This position, whose geographical coverage includes Japan, Korea, South East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, “will strengthen Kering‘s corporate team in Asia-Pacific, in order to support the long-term development of the group’s Houses in the region,” Kering said in a statement.

Thierry Marty already has experience in the field of large luxury companies. He began his career at Deloitte before joining the luxury group LVMH in 1995, Kering noted. He has held management positions at Fendi, Celine, Bulgari and Louis Vuitton. He will be based in Seoul and will report to Kering‘s deputy CEO Jean-Francois Palus. However, Kering said the organization of the Greater China brand would remain unchanged, with Jinquig Cai, president of Kering Greater China, continuing to lead the local teams.

Having lived in Asia for more than 20 years, Thierry Marty brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the luxury industry in these markets. We are confident that he will make a significant contribution to the implementation of our strategy in North Asia and South East Pacific,” said Jean-François Palus, Deputy CEO of Kering.
