The 20th edition of the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix took place this Thursday in the form of a digital show due to the current health situation.

 

The excellence and dynamism of the watchmaking industry were praised by the Jury and the new Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix Academy, which awarded 19 prizes and presented the Grand Prix de l’Aiguille d’Or to Piaget for the Altiplano Ultimate Concept watch.

 

The 2020 Grand Prix of Geneva Watchmaking (GPHG) prize list was unveiled on Thursday, November 12, at the GPHG awards ceremony, brilliantly conducted by actor Edouard Baer.

 

The Special Jury Prize, which rewards an important player in the watchmaking world, was awarded to Antoine Simonin, watchmaking expert and teacher, publisher, and former director of the WOSTEP Foundation.

 

Several brands also received an award:

 

Grand Prix de l’Aiguille d’Or: Piaget, Altiplano Ultimate Concept.

Ladies Watch Award: Bovet 1822, Miss Audrey.

Complication Prize for Ladies: Charles Girardier, Tourbillon Signature Mysterious “fleur de sel”.

Men’s Watch Award: Voutilainen, 28SC.

Men’s Complication Award: Greubel Forsey, Hand Made 1.

Iconic Watch Award: Bulgari, Aluminium Chronograph.

Chronometry Prize: Chronométrie Ferdinand Berthoud, FB 2RE.2.

Prize for the Calendar and Astronomy Watch: Vacheron Constantin, Overseas Quantième Perpétuel Ultra-Flat Squelette.

Mechanical Exception Award: Bovet 1822, Recital 26 Brainstorm Chapter 2.

Chronograph Watch Award: H. Moser & Cie, Streamliner Flyback Chronograph Automatic.

Price of the Dive Watch: Breitling, Superocean Automatic 48 Boutique Edition.

Jewelry Watch Prize: Van Cleef & Arpels, Secret Frivolous Watch.

Métiers d’Art Watch Award: Van Cleef & Arpels, Lady Arpels Soleil Féerique.

Prix de la Petite Aiguille : Breitling, Superocean Heritage ’57 Limited Edition II.

Challenge Awards: Tudor, Black Bay Fifty-Eight.

Innovation Award: Parmigiani Fleurier, Hegirian Perpetual Calendar.

Daring Award: H. Moser & Cie, Endeavour Cylindrical Tourbillon H. Moser X MB&F.

Prix Révélation Horlogère : Petermann Bédat, Seconde morte.

Special Jury Prize: Antoine Simonin, Expert and teacher in watchmaking, editor, former director of the WOSTEP Foundation.
