To close the year of the Earth, the theme of the Icicle collections in 2021, the brand is presenting the “Rocks” exhibition in its cultural space at 35 avenue George V until 31 January 2022.

Originally from Shanghai, Icicle is a high-end fashion brand that plays the card of soft fashion and sustainable products. On the occasion of their 2021 collection on the theme of earth, the exhibition “ROCKS!” was born: it brings together five French and Chinese artists’ views on minerals : Zhan Wang, Jonathan Bréchignac, Charlotte Charbonnel, Noémie Goudal and Shao Wenhuan.

The exhibition takes its starting point in the Chinese tradition of stone collecting. Chinese scholars used to choose stones or rocks eroded by time from nature to decorate their gardens and studios. In combination with water, these forms, symbolizing the mountain, constitute a kind of scale model of nature, inspiring tranquillity and providing an aesthetic touch.

Designed as a contemporary cabinet of curiosities, the exhibition explores the link between nature and artifice. The participating artists question our perceptions and summon the mystery of stones. For, beyond their fixed and immobile form, they are impregnated with the movement of the world, the results of successive sedimentations, witnesses of the planet earth for millions or even billions of years.

The exhibition is also part of the “In Paris during FIAC” programme.
