French luxury leather goods manufacturer VSR plans to create three workshops, which will employ 900 people within ten years, in the Roanne region of the Loire.
“Three workshops of the subcontractor of the French luxury leather goods VSR, sized for a workforce of 250 to 300 people each, will be located in different municipalities of Roanne” revealed the mayor of Roanne.
The local authority is due to sign an agreement with the leather goods manufacturer for the sale of a first two-hectare site in the first quarter of 2023. According to the information of the president of the agglomeration Mr. Nicolin, the building will be more than 3,000 hectares and will be built between late 2024 and early 2025. He said that the activity of this “subcontractor of big names in French leather goods” would start next year on the town of Coteau.
On Thursday evening, the agglomeration voted a subsidy of 1000 euros per permanent job that will be created by VSR. “Recruitment will be one of the challenges for this company because our attractive territory, which was competing with two other agglomerations of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes for this project, has seen its unemployment rate fall below 6%.”
According to information that AFP was able to collect, the management of Pôle Emploi in Roanne will begin a first selection of candidates in the coming weeks.
