Dubai Design Week is back. Its 8th edition will give visitors the opportunity to discover a variety of installations and exhibitions between 8 and 13 November 2022.
Dubai Design Week will feature large-scale immersive installations this year, illustrating the theme of this year’s event: Design With Impact. “We have engaged with regional and international architects and designers, asking them to present an exclusive piece of work that has a positive impact on the environment. The impact can be induced by the innovation of new materials, recycling and/or upcycling. Design With Impact expresses the different facets of how we can design a better future,” explains Kate Barry, the event’s director.
Dubai Design Week will provide an opportunity to wander and be nourished through exhibitions, installations, competitions, discussions and workshops in a wide range of creative disciplines. For example, at the Amani Ceramics Workshop, by Amani Badur, participants will manipulate clay.
One of the highlights of the week will certainly be “The Future of Fashion: A conversation about innovation with Stella McCartney”, the famous British fashion designer.
A series of off-site exhibitions will be held in the heart of D3 (Dubai’s design, dining and entertainment district), including an exploration of how the Metaverse pushes the boundaries of design. In conjunction with Dubai Design Week, D3 will also host its annual D3 Architecture Exhibition, starting on 8 November.
