The German car manufacturer Porsche is partnering with the American production company Pixar to create a unique car inspired by the animated film Cars.
This special edition, directed by Cars creative director, Jay Ward, will be based on the character of Sally Carrera, one of the heroines of this film. The model developed around this unique car will be a Porsche 911, strongly inspired by the one in which Sally evolves during this feature film.
Wanting to remain faithful to the animated character, this Porsche 911 will be painted a metallic blue, its wheels will be customized to reproduce the «Turbo Twist» Sally, her tattoos and patterns on the trunk and the entire car will also be faithfully reproduced. In addition, this car will be accompanied by a matching Porsche Design watch, luggage and art books, also in special edition.
Still in the sketching stage, this unique car is expected to be launched at the end of 2022, but uncertainties related to the Ukrainian situation influence the setting of a specific date. Pixar and Porsche have also revealed that this car will be auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s and the proceeds from the sale will be donated to several charities such as the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, to support and accompany Ukrainian families.
“Just like Sally, the purpose of this car is to help others, that’s what makes it so special,” said Kjell Gruner, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America.
