Europe’s largest in-water exhibition, the Cannes Yachting Festival returns from September 6 to 11 to celebrate its 45th edition.
The 45th edition of the Cannes Yachting Festival will take place from September 6 to 11, 2022 between the Old Port, the Port Canto, in the Palais des Festivals and on the Pantiero quay, with a brand new visual identity. Last year, the show had gathered no less than 550 exhibitors, offered 140 previews and welcomed 55,000 visitors.
Sylvie Ernoult, director of the Yachting Festival, is delighted: “This 2022 edition is shaping up to be a very good one (…) The number of boats is increasing and we hope that we will get closer to the 640 units exhibited. Our visitors will have the pleasure of discovering nuggets afloat and ashore, of all sizes, of all types, equipped with classic motorization or turned towards the future with the first onboard electric, hybrid or hydrogen propulsion systems.”

It also specifies that the show supports exhibitors “in their eco-responsible development by helping them to highlight their innovations, particularly through the “Green Route” and the “Innovation Village”.
Indeed, visitors will discover in the heart of the Sailing area, in Port Canto, the Innovation Village created in partnership with Mer Angels & BNP Paribas Banque Privée, which highlights the “smart” start-ups of the nautical sector, offering disruptive technologies or high value-added services. In addition, the festival, aware of ecological issues, has created the Green Route space to highlight the eco-efficient solutions developed by exhibitors to reduce the environmental impact of the marine industry on the sea and marine ecosystems.
The show will also host boats over 24 meters, a real technical feat, with the “Super Yachts Extension” (SYE). Consisting of three floating barges positioned in the extension of the Jetty, this overhang on the sea, built for the show, will bring together about thirty of the largest motor yachts exhibited in the Old Port.
New exhibitors
This year, 182 new exhibitors will be visiting the show for the first time. Among them will be Alium Yacht, a new brand of open Mediterranean aluminum yachts. This French brand is the result of an alliance between three partners with a passion for boating, a young Swiss designer and the builder Meta Yachts. Their first model, the Alium 42S, will be unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival.
The show will also mark the first exhibition of the new hydrofoil model with hybrid fuel cell propulsion. This is a world first presented by SeaBubbles, a young French start-up, whose ambition is to contribute to alternative, sustainable and carbon-free urban mobility.
