The online guide Cruise Critic has just established, for the 14th year, its ranking of the best cruises.
Online cruise guide Cruise Critic has announced the winners of its 14th annual Cruise Critic Editors’ Picks Awards. The awards recognise the best cruise lines of the year, chosen by the site’s international team of experts.
“This is our first full set of Editors’ Picks Awards since the pandemic, which marks a significant milestone for the industry,” says Colleen McDaniel, CEO of Cruise Critic. shares Colleen McDaniel, editor-in-chief of Cruise Critic. “Cruising is not only back, it’s exceeding expectations – and this year’s list of winners is proof of that,” she adds.
On the luxury cruise side, it was Silversea Cruises that took the award for Best Line for its extensive range and constant innovation. This was made possible by new programmes such as in-cabin wellness options and the excursion and dining programme. According to the editors of Cruise Critic: “If you want to be pampered, Silversea delivers. From the spacious and more-than-comfortable suites to the personalized butler service, Silversea offers an all-inclusive luxury experience, even before you embark.”

In the best new luxury ship category, Emerald Cruises’ Emerald Azzurra, a 100-passenger ship that resembles, in the guide’s words, a luxury yacht, takes the prize: “With the Emerald Azzurra, Emerald Cruises has established itself in the world of luxury cruising – with sleek, modern spaces, beautiful outdoor enclaves and staterooms outfitted with everything a guest could need.”
Oceania Cruises won the Best Itineraries Award in 2022 for its carefully designed voyages. Other awards for the luxury category include Silversea Cruises winning for dining, Seabourn Cruise Line for service and Viking Ocean Cruises for spa.
