The Artura, Mclaren’s first hybrid model

After Lamborghini, Aston Martin and Jaguar, it is now the turn of British sports car manufacturer McLaren to launch its first hybrid luxury car. Called the Artura, the manufacturer has unveiled this “supercar”, which will go into production in the third quarter of 2021 and will be sold for $225,000 (about €185,000).

The carmaker has not done things by halves, as the Artura is the first model to use the new McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA), reducing the weight of the electrical system cables by 10%. Faced with increasing environmental standards, carmakers have made the choice to introduce more hybrid models into their range.

This 1.5 tonne supercar will be 80% rechargeable in two and a half hours with an EVSE cable and will feature a 580bhp V6 engine with a 95bhp electric motor alongside: the Artura will therefore offer its future drivers a total power of 675bhp.

The Artura’s 0-100km/h time is just three seconds (top speed is 330km/h), but the electric motor is relatively small. In “all-electric” mode, it will allow a maximum speed of 40 km/h with a range of only 30 km. Far from being suitable for long-distance journeys, the Artura’s electric mode is therefore more a model to be used sparingly, for a nice short ride viagra générique prix pas cher.
