The winners of the 18th Talents du luxe et de la création competition, organised by the Centre du luxe et de la création since 2002, were announced at the Sommet du Luxe held yesterday in Paris. The 18-member jury met on 11 May to select the nine winners.
Nine talents for the nine values of luxury: Audacity, Well-being, Elegance, Harmony, Innovation, Invention, Originality, Rarity and Seduction. The 18 members of the jury, who met on 11 May, also selected the Talent d’or, the Talent du Management, the Empreinte de l’année, the Prix spécial du Jury and the Prix spécial des Métiers d’Art. All these Talents in Luxury and Creation winners were unveiled yesterday at the Luxury Summit 2023, organised by the Centre du luxe et de la création in Paris.
Against a backdrop of multiple uncertainties and transitions, a growing awareness of the need to protect our environment and preserve artistic crafts, some of which have become rare, this class of Talents 2023 reflects the diversity of the worlds that make up luxury. Gastronomy, interior design and decoration are widely represented among the winners. Perhaps an echo of our need for beauty and good taste? But jewellery, watchmaking, fashion, perfumery and cosmetics were also among the nominees.
In this list of winners, crafts based on centuries-old traditions and ancient techniques that have been revisited, reinvented or combined with the most innovative technologies rub shoulders, showing the absolute mastery of gestures and the intuition required for the most unique creations. But it’s also the life stories and the intentions expressed that give a particular tone to this year’s class. The 2023 selection is also an invitation to travel. It introduces us to creative talent from Italy, the UK, Portugal, Serbia and Japan, and reveals the hidden treasures at the heart of French regions such as Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, the Aix-en-Provence region and Occitanie…
