Sidney Toledano, President of the fashion division at LVMH, becomes President of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture for a two-year term. He succeeds Ralph Toledano, to whom he is not related.

Mr. Toledano takes the place of… Mr. Toledano. A rather amusing coincidence, knowing that the two men are not from the same family.

On November 21, during the general assembly of the Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion (FHCM), the Chambre Syndicale proceeded to the election of its new executive committee, naming Sidney Toledano as president. He was already part of the previous board of directors.

In a statement, the Federation said that for the new board, composed of six members, the fashion houses Chanel, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Jean Paul Gaultier, Maison Margiela and Schiaparelli were re-elected.

You know my attachment to haute couture and the values it embodies. I hereby formally commit myself, as did my predecessor Ralph Toledano, to defend and promote them. With the committee, we have contributed for many years to the development and excellence of haute couture, and we will continue to do so with conviction and determination,” said Sidney Toledano in a statement.

The executive president of the FHCM, Pascal Morand, recalls that Mr. Toledano “has always ensured the emergence and development of talent” and maintains that “his expertise will make Haute Couture, its professions and its actors excel.

A graduate of the École Centrale de Paris, Ralph Toledano began his career as a consultant at Nielsen before joining the shoe brand Kickers, then Lancel as general manager. He then put one foot in Haute Couture by joining Christian Dior in 1994, where he became CEO in 1998. In 2018, he was appointed CEO of the Fashion division at LVMH (Celine, Givenchy, Kenzo, Loewe, Marc Jacobs, Patou, Pucci, Rossimoda).

The man of many hats was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institut Français de la Mode (IFM) in 2022. He is also a director of the Colbert Committee.
