AMAALA, a new luxury tourist destination being developed on the north-western Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia, has unveiled the design of its 7900 sqm signature yacht club. Designed by HKS Architects, the yacht becomes the driver of the project currently under development at the stunning Red Sea marina.
Located in the Triple Bay Marina, in the nature reserve owned by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, this yacht club is the centerpiece and emblematic structure of the AMAALA project, which aims to become a unique meeting point between “land and sea”.

John Pagano, CEO of AMAALA, said: “AMAALA is one of the flagship initiatives of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan and remains central to the Kingdom’s ambition to become a global leader in tourism. We plan for AMAALA to become an international luxury yachting mecca and as such, the yacht club should stand out with a world-class design, inspired by the surrounding natural elements and Arabian heritage, and respecting our commitment to sustainability.”
The architects of the HKS firm were inspired by geometric shapes to carry out this gigantic project. On the one hand, the rocky shapes of the Saudi Red Sea coastline clearly contributed to the design. On the other hand, the unique relationship between man and the sea was essential to the concept, so that the yacht could fit in perfectly with the Triple Bay marina.
Dan Flower, Design Director at HKS and Principal Architect of the AMAALA Yacht Club, adds: “From the outset, it was clear that we wanted to create a building that would fit into its environment and whose style would be inspired by the local culture and landscape, as well as the specifics of the marine lifestyle. We wanted to reinvent the yacht club concept and modernise it, making it a second home for water sports enthusiasts from all walks of life, from leisure to elite sport.”
With 7900 m² spread over four levels, the yacht should welcome its residents for business trips, pleasure or to participate in the many yachting events. In addition, a 10-hectare basin houses a marina with 120 berths for yachts up to 130 meters in length, reserved for residents and for yachting events, regattas and inaugurations.
As a reminder, AMAALA is a massive land and property project currently under development in Saudi Arabia and overseen by The Red Sea Development Company. AMAALA is also part of the Saudi Vision 2030 program.. Indeed, this programme aims to bring the country out of its oil rent by diversifying its economy, notably with real estate and the hotel industry. It is expected to create more than 50,000 new jobs for the Saudi population, as well as a contribution of more than 11 billion riyals to the country’s GDP, once completed.
