The French fashion house continues its diversification strategy. After clothing, perfumes, leather goods, NFTs and film production, Saint Laurent is launching into high jewelry.

Like many other fashion houses (such as Gucci, Prada, Fendi or recently Balmain), Saint Laurent is stepping into the glittering world of fine jewelry with a first collection called Fine Jewelry.

Each piece in this line uses noble materials such as 18-carat gold, diamonds and many other precious materials, carefully selected by the House’s artistic director since 2016, Anthony Vaccarello.

Precious materials that help differentiate them from the jewelry that accompanies the ready-to-wear collections of the Parisian House.

Originally, the artistic director thought of this line of exceptional products as an extension of the Saint Laurent style, namely sleek, linear and focused on metal.

The jewelry line consists of different models of bracelets, cuffs, rings, necklaces, brooches and earrings developed around the theme of the link chain.

Different variations and sizes of links are available. While the vast majority of the pieces are recognizable only to those familiar with the House’s codes, some are branded with the famous Cassandra motif.

This is the famous logo of 1961, composed of the initials Yves Saint Laurent intertwined in capital letters. A pattern designed by the French-Ukrainian graphic designer Adolphe Jean Marie Mouron, known as “Cassandre”, already behind the original sign of Christian Dior. The luxury House thus brings out a piece of archive, while the Cassandre was replaced as the official logo of the House in 2012, being until now visible only on bags and beauty products.

A collection with luxury and minimalist accents with antique reminiscences. It is functional and timeless, with pieces designed to be worn and carried over, according to the time, the seasons and the trends.

As far as prices are concerned, you should expect to pay around 690 euros for a ring, 3,900 to 6,900 euros for different models of bracelets and up to 45,000 euros for an oversized chain bracelet in yellow gold.

Announced just a few days ago, the collection is already available on the label’s website as well as in a selection of boutiques: first in Paris at Saint-Laurent rive droite and Saint-Germain-des-Près but also in Saint-Tropez. It is also possible to buy it around the world, including Monaco.

The launch campaign was entrusted to the German photographer Juergen Teller, who is used to fashion photos.
