On Monday 13 September, Rolls-Royce announced the sale of its stake in the AirTanker aircraft refuelling unit, for a sum approaching $261 million.
Rolls-Royce is selling its 23.1% stake in AirTanker, in its latest disposal to reduce its debt. It wants to sell assets worth £2 billion, primarily to help repair its balance sheet after the pandemic.
AirTanker, a UK charter airline, operates charter flights using air-to-air refuelling aircraft, of which Rolls-Royce is part of the parent company.
Rolls-Royce said that after the planned sale to Equitix Investment Management Limited, however, the British manufacturer would remain a 23.5% shareholder in AirTanker Services.
