Return on the “Cosmetic Experience Tour” event

An immersive event around the perfumery and cosmetics industry took place on Friday at Chartrexpo, co-organised by Cosmetic Valley and La Maison des Entreprises et de l’Emploi de l’Agglomération Chartraine. Here is a look back at the first date of the “Cosmetic Experience Tour”.

 

On Friday, in Chartres, the “Cosmetic Experience Tour” was held, a travelling, experiential and innovative event to discover and test the professions of the perfume and cosmetics industry. Its primary ambition: “To offer a fun and innovative experience with a real immersion in the reality of the industry to discover the professions of the perfumery and cosmetics sector, through role-playing, meetings with professionals, olfactory experiences and exchanges”.

If the aim of this event is to raise awareness among the younger generation about training and employment opportunities in the perfumery and cosmetics industry, it is because the latter is currently suffering from a lack of attractiveness. And for good reason, many young people are not aware of the jobs offered by the industry. However, it is estimated that 15,000 people will be recruited in 2022.

 

 

 

“Employment is today at the heart of the concerns of the French perfumery and cosmetics industry which counts 3,200 companies and 250,000 jobs and is one of the jewels of the French economy. Embodying in the eyes of the world the excellence of the made in France, it is a sector of the future with promising opportunities since one company out of two plans to recruit in the coming months,” says Christophe Masson, General Manager of Cosmetic Valley. 

 

“At a time when the economy is dynamic, when companies are recruiting and there is a shortage of labour, it is becoming essential to find new ways of meeting, exchanging and discovering. To give the public, young and old, schoolchildren and job seekers alike, the desire to discover jobs in a different way, and in particular those in the perfume and cosmetics industry,” adds Sébastien Odon, project manager at the Chartres Métropole employment centre.

 

When you represent an industrial fabric of SMEs, individual companies and large groups, you can not be indifferent to employment and youth,” said Marc-Antoine Jamet, President of the Cosmetic Valley, and also Secretary General of the LVMH group.

 

The event focused on four key professions of this industry, in the form of discovery workshops: line operator (production), maintenance technician, packaging project manager (packaging) and formulator (formulation of cosmetic products). The “Cosmetic Experience Tour” dedicated a space to the companies Dior, Guerlain and Reckitt Benckiser to present the professions of the sector.

 

Many institutional and academic players in the sector were also present at the event: AFPA, IUT de Chartres, IMT, Campus des métiers et des qualifications des industries cosmétiques et pharmaceutiques

 

The “Cosmetic Experience Tour” will be present in three other cities in the Centre-Val de Loire region in 2021-2022: next January 28 in Blois, in Orleans on May 19 and in Tours at the end of 2022. This tour will continue later in other regions of France. We can count on the presence of the mascots, Blushy and Vanille.
