RECORD FOR CHRISTIE’S WATCH AUCTIONS

Christie’s took first place in the global market with a record amount of 93.7 million dollars.

 

This is a historic performance. This spring 2021, the watch auction market recorded its best results ever.

 

In just four months (March to June 2021), Christie’s watch auctions in Geneva, Hong Kong, Dubai, and New York totaled $93.7 million, propelling Christie’s to the top of the market.

 

The market is opening up to a younger and more diverse profile. A total of 39% of buyers at the watch sales were new to Christie’s, 40% of whom were under 40 years old internet. The customer base is also becoming more international: 41% are based in the Asia Pacific region, 28% in the Americas and 31% in the EMEA region.

 

The physical and online auctions that took place between March and June of this year in the various markets combined the benefits of global expertise with the deep regional knowledge that defines Christie’s expert watch specialists.
