Radisson Hotel Group is looking ahead to 2021 with 30 hotel openings planned, representing 5,000 rooms in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). This was announced in an official video by Elie Younes, Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer EMEA of Radisson Hotel Group. In 2020, the Group announced that its expansion included the introduction of the Radisson Individuals brand and ambitious plans to double its portfolio of serviced flats by 2025. Planned openings in 2021 also include seven new openings of the Group’s Radisson Collection brand in France, Italy, Spain, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

2021 will be another key year for Radisson Hotel Group’expansion. The hospitality giant plans to open 30 hotels and more than 5,000 rooms this year in EMEA.

Planned openings include seven Radisson Collection premium lifestyle hotels and resorts in key cities such as Seville and Lyon, as well as an impressive expansion in Italy in Milan, Venice and Cortina d’Ampezzo. This brings the total portfolio of the group’s prestige brand to more than 35 hotels worldwide in key cities such as Paris, Milan, London, Shanghai, Moscow, Cairo and Lagos, as well as in resort destinations such as the Blue Mountains, Bodrum and Nanjing.

To enable the 30 new openings planned for 2021, the group had signed up more than 40 new hotels, resorts and serviced flats across the EMEA region in 2020 with 7,700 rooms to undertake its new expansion. An expansion initiated in early 2019 when it was acquired by the world’s second-largest hotel group Jin Jiang, which gave it a new lease of life.

Radisson Hotel Group has thus begun its new dynamic from 2020 with the opening of no less than 84 hotels in the Asia-Pacific region. The group has opened over 20 properties as it continues to optimise its new brand architecture. Key signings include Radisson Blu Sheffield in the UK, Radisson RED Innsbruck in Austria, Radisson RED Cologne, Radisson Blu Resort Santorini in Greece, Radisson Hotel & Convention Centre Johannesburg in South Africa, Radisson Residences Heidelberg in Germany, Radisson Beach Resort The Palm in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Cour des Loges Lyon, Radisson HotelCollection in France and Henrietta House, a member of Radisson Individuals in Bath, UK.

In 2020, Radisson Hotel Group also launched a new entity, Radisson Individuals, a brand offering independent hotels and local and regional chains the opportunity to become part of the Radisson Hotel Group’s global platform, benefiting from the group’s international reputation and experience, while having the freedom to maintain their identity.

In addition, 2020 marks the expansion of the group’s portfolio of serviced flats, which will be developed as an extension of the brand to meet different expectations, from mid-range to luxury. Radisson Hotel Group has announced plans to more than double its portfolio of serviced flats over the next five years, with new openings planned in Paris, Amsterdam, Istanbul, Larnaca, Nicosia, Cortina, Cairo, Riyadh, and further openings planned in Germany.

Elie Younes, says: “Throughout 2020, while many hotel groups have put their development plans on hold, we have remained optimistic and dedicated to creating more possibilities for guests and opportunities for owners. With the launch of Radisson Individuals and the strengthening of our serviced flat strategy, we remain relevant to our owners and guests through three key factors: innovation, simplification and empowering our people. 2021 is likely to be a year of transition with a difficult first half and an expected recovery thereafter, and I see it as a year of further opportunities for a better future. We thank our customers, owners and team members for their continued support, trust and generosity.”

Radisson Hotel Group’s top priority is the continued health and safety of its guests, team members and business partners. In May 2020, the hotel group announced its Radisson Hotels Safety Protocol in collaboration with SGS, the world’s leading inspection, verification, testing and certification company. In addition, Radisson Hotel Group supports the World Travel and Tourism Council’s (WTTC) Safe Travels health and safety protocols and puts its stamp on creating consistency across the travel and tourism industry.
