Japan’s popular Pokémon franchise is teaming up with creator Hiroshi Fujiwara to launch the Inn Thunderbolt project, a themed hotel experience located in the Sequence Miyashita Park complex, a hotel in Tokyo, Japan.

Hiroshi Fujiwara, the creator of the streetwear brand Fragment Design, has come up with this hotel experience inspired by the Pokémon universe. It will take place on the 16th floor of the Miyashita Park luxury hotel’s “sequence” in the heart of the famous Shibuya district. This association between the two was shot around the theme of “sleep”.

The hotel rooms on the sixteenth floor have been specially decorated in the colours of the Japanese video game world and its main icons. Green grass covers the floor of the corridors and bushes cover the walls of the corridors.

As for the hotel rooms, they have been wallpapered, of course, with a Pokémon theme. Also, several small gadgets featuring famous Pokémon were placed in the rooms, such as Snorlax or Pikachu plush toys. Rare Candy brand mint pillows, physical Pokédex books, mystery candies and special edition sodas will be available in these hotel rooms for guests.

Guests will also be able to access a gift shop that will sell exclusive Pokémon products such as unique plush toys, which will not be available anywhere else.

This hotel experience opened on January 20, 2022 and will be available until March 20. To stay for one night in one of its unique luxury suites at the Tokyo hotel, expect to pay approximately ¥97,560 or €755.
