Oscar Damiani auctions his own watches

Italian soccer player and agent Oscar Damiani has decided to sell his collector’s watches at Bonhams’ first luxury auction.

 

Thursday, May 20, Bonhams in Paris will hold its first auction, which will be opened by the impressive watch collection of former soccer player Oscar Damiani. After a successful career, Damiani was keen to maintain a link with his former activities and became an agent for other great soccer players, such as Andriy Shevchenko, Lilian Thuram, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, and even Alessandro Costacurta.

 

Among the models offered for sale, there are unique timepieces, some of them even bearing the colors of the clubs in which the italian legend played, such as AC Milan or Napoli. The most famous watch brands answer the call : Patek Philippe, Rolex, Hublot, Blancpain, Baume & Mercier, Omega, and Jaeger-LeCoultre.

 

 

 

A unique Hublot watch with a 36 mm case coated with yellow gold quartz is offered among this five-star selection (lot 226). This model was given to Oscar Damiani by defender Alessandro Costacurta when he played for AC Milan from 1986 to 2007.

 

 

Lot 232 is a Blancpain Aqua Lung from 1999. The steel model is a limited edition released on the occasion of the victory of his former club, AC Milan, sold at a price of 3000€.

 

In addition to these two prestigious models, an exceptional timepiece is available at the Bonhams auction: a Rolex Air King Precision. The 1995 watch was acquired to celebrate AC Milan‘s double victory in the Serie A and the Champion’s League. The dial features a number 5, for the five victories in the Champion’s League and a 14, for the fourteen titles obtained. This lot is 227 for a price of 3500€.

 

 

A limited-edition Franck Muller Cintrée Curvex with the AC Milan club crest is also part of the lots. The models numbered 228 and 229, celebrate the Italian Championship title and estimated between 1200 et 1800€.

 

 

Also featured is an Omega Speedmaster steel watch from 1997, given to Damiani during a match in memory of Franco Baresi. On the back, the model bears the inscription: “Franco Baresi Testimonial game 28/10/1997” and is offered at a price of 231.

 

 

An exceptional model, celebrating the 100 years of the mythical, Juventus. This 1997 Reverso watch signed by Jaeger-LeCoultre is engraved on the back with the inscription “Juventus 1897-1997 Cento anni di Juve, Limited Edition No. 047/100“, and is available for €6500.

 

 

And for the centenary of AC Milan, Patek Philippe designed in 1999 a rose gold model of 37 mm in diameter. The 233 lot is available for 20000€.

 

 

Lot 236 is a limited edition rose gold Reverso in the colors of the Torino FC coat of arms for the club’s 100th anniversary in 2008. The “Special Edition Fagnola Torino No.VII/XXV” was limited to one hundred pieces, 75 in steel and 25 in gold, and is now available at auction for €6500.

 

 

Lots 234 and 235, two Baume & Mercier models, were designed for AC Milan’s 17th Scudetto, in 2004, and are also part of the lots brasil-libido.com.
