Omega had already made headlines last January thanks to its collaboration with the director Yann Arthus-Bertrand for the film Legacy. But it is for a completely different subject that it is now back in the media spotlight. The company has just announced the release of a rather special timepiece, made of bronze and gold.

Omega’s iconic Seamaster model has been given a makeover, thanks to the Swiss brand’s specific and exclusive alloy. This innovation gives the company an edge over its many competitors.

The new Seamaster 300 has a “Bronze Gold” case. This alloy, which makes it so special, is made of bronze, but this bronze also contains 37.5% gold. The advantage of this alloy is that the timepiece will oxidise much less over time and will be resistant to corrosion. “It will accumulate years, but age slowly while preserving its beautiful natural patina,” says Omega.

The “Bronze Gold” patented by the company is 50% bronze, 37.5% gold (9k), 5% silver, 5% palladium and 5% gallium. It is this composition, so unique to Omega, that sets it apart from its competitors. In general, bronze is a material associated with tin, aluminium, lead, beryllium, manganese or tungsten.

On the aesthetic side, this “Bronze Gold” will be present on the case but even more so on the pin buckle. The light pink colour of this alloy, is clearly close to rose gold. “The colour of bronze gold is exactly between OMEGA’s Moonshine™ 18K gold and Sedna™ 18K gold. “, says the House.

The brown ceramic bezel will be thinner than on previous models, giving it a slimmer look. The bezel will perfectly match the dark brown sandwich structure dial made of its bronze alloy.

On the technical side, this unique timepiece is composed of a complication, the Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 8912, and has a power reserve of 60 hours. It will also be possible to dive to a depth of 300 metres. This timepiece comes with a full five-year warranty.

For watch enthusiasts, it will cost 11,400 euros to afford this little marvel can find on this page.
