The international luxury brand Moncler SpA has just announced the signature of an exclusive perfume license agreement with the French group Interparfums SA. The high-end winter clothing brand, known for its golden price jackets, wants to enter the very promising segment of perfumes and diversify its activities. Above all, it wants to continue its remarkable rise in the luxury market after excellent performances and an excellent financial position in recent years.

The Italian clothing house Moncler announced yesterday, Wednesday June 11, the signature with the French cosmetics manufacturer Interparfums of a worldwide and exclusive perfume licensing agreement until December 31, 2026, with the possibility of a five-year extension.

Under the terms of this agreement, Interparfums “will create and produce perfumes and derivative products and distribute them in Moncler boutiques as well as in department stores, perfumeries and duty-free outlets” the French prestige fragrance operator explained in a press release.

The launch of this first fragrance line is planned for the first quarter of 2022 and is part of Moncler’s “selective strategy to extend the Moncler brand and enrich its customer experience” said Remo Ruffini, CEO of Moncler.

By launching its first fragrance collection, the Italian luxury brand led by businessman Remo Ruffini wants to invest in a new business segment, enrich its current offer and diversify its range of products.

Above all, the house wishes to penetrate the very buoyant beauty and cosmetics market and consolidate its worldwide reputation, but it also wants to strengthen its luxury image by entering the emblematic market of perfumery renowned for its refinement and elegance.

And by partnering with the prestigious designer Interparfums, the Italian brand is doubling its gains, hoping to reinforce its unique market position, which until now has been limited to the under-exploited category of luxury outerwear that are its signature: “Interparfums widely recognized expertise and creativity make it the ideal partner to develop a perfume that is fully aligned with Moncler’s DNA and strong identity” explained Remo Ruffini, CEO of the Italian group.

A strategic choice, therefore, which is also a strategic choice for Interparfums: “Moncler is the only luxury house inspired by the world of the mountains and by the constant search for innovation and evolution. It is a brand that represents uniqueness, authenticity, quality and excellence. We are certain that its incomparable story will be successfully interpreted in perfumery” commented Philippe Benacin, CEO of the perfume creator.

This agreement will allow Interparfums to strengthen its portfolio of prestigious licenses, as the French group currently enjoys perfume licenses from Boucheron, Coach, Jimmy Choo, Karl Lagerfeld, Kate Spade, Montblanc, Paul Smith, Repetto, S.T. Dupont and Van Cleef & Arpels and also owns Lanvin and Maison Rochas fragrances, 14 brands in total.

This Friday morning, the French perfumer was up significantly at the start of the session in Paris, with a share price that climbed more than 10%, to 32.70 euros, the highest increase in the SRD.

An agreement that was greeted on the stock market, and which allows the two brands to reach a new milestone in their penetration of the luxury market.
