Milan Fashion Week takes place during the 3rd of the 4 fashion weeks. It comes after London and New York and precedes Paris. From September 21 to today, return on the shows that have already marked the memories of this Fashion Week 2022.

In the Lombardy capital, many stars, journalists and fashion professionals walk the streets and discover the new spring-summer 2023 collections of the leading designers. Among the many fashion shows, some captivated the public and caught the attention of your magazine Luxus plus.

Emporio Armani: when the Orient meets Italy

Designer Giorgio Armani has always been fascinated by the Orient. For his new summer collection, the artistic director imagined a wardrobe put together during a trip to “a hypothetical and unspecified destination in the East,” says the pre-show press kit.

On the menu: contemporary and casual pieces with an elegant style, such as sarouels, blouses and baggy pants. All in airy fabrics, they compete with elegance and lightness. Beaded trimmings on tank tops, discreet accessories or not, perfectly accompany the outfits, while bringing them a touch of fantasy.

This year, the designer wants to reach a wider audience, less young, more serious and composed: “I repeat myself, but I would like to see women of all ages, wearing my creations in the street. It would be, for me, the most beautiful success.

In the end, an inspiring and inspired collection, under the veil of the East, between lightness and simplicity.

Gucci: Milan sees double

With Twinsburg, Gucci signs one of the shows, if not THE most memorable show since the beginning of this fashion month.

Alessandro Michele, the Italian house’s artistic director since 2015, never ceases to excel in his field. Revolutionary, innovative, fearless and grandiose in his choice of ideas and representations, he dazzles fashion with his knowledge and boldness. This year, it is still a new master stroke that unveils this new generation hippie, more hype than ever.

For it was not just models who paraded in the large hangar of the Gucci headquarters in Milan. Nor even mirrors that reflected their reflection, but twins …

This grandiose show put twins in the spotlight.

It is above all a tribute to his “two mothers”: “I am the son of two mothers. Two extraordinary women, two twins, who made this situation the ultimate seal of their existence. They were, as if by magic, the reflection of each other,” said the designer in his show notes.

It was not one, but two fashion shows, which took place at the same time, each one being a reflection of the other. And without the public noticing, a central partition separating the two twins. Before disappearing at the end of the show …

For the grand finale, each pair found themselves, hands joined, walking simultaneously.

XXL head jewels, flamboyant and glittering dresses, structured costumes, among others, animated this atypical staging.

Faux leather, velvet, checks, felt, wool and nylon mixed and structured these new creations, each more fantastic than the last.

Dolce & Gabbana: Ciao Kim

This long-awaited fashion show of the Italian duo was marked by a collaboration with Kim Kardashian.

The event had been announced by numerous advertising campaigns and posts on social networks. Who better than the interplanetary star of Instagram to promote the new collection of a luxury brand?

After Balenciaga, Kim K joins the brand “in black”. As a backdrop to the fashion show, a short film in black and white was projected. We saw Kim Kardashian, platinum blonde, dressed in glittering Dolce underwear and eating a plate of pasta.

The outfits of the models parading on a rhythmic music were chosen by the reality TV star, in the archives of the house, from 1987 to 2007.

Reissues or historical pieces such as jumpsuits, corsets and transparent or lace lingerie, but also ultra-large dresses, like the one worn by the celebrity at the time of the thanks. But also streetwear looks, low-rise jeans and crop tops.

A mix of old and new, fantasy and sobriety, all in collaboration with the goddess of Twitter and Instagram.

Prada: between creation and renewal

The house called on the director of Drive, Nicolas Refn, for the atmosphere of the spring-summer 2023 show.

Presented by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, co-creative director since 2020, this collection is an ode to creative freedom.

Touch of crude” combines homewear and everyday wear.

The sober pieces in neutral tones borrow from the men’s wardrobe: blazers, suit pants, oversized coats with square shoulders. But more feminine pieces, such as flowing dresses, bi-material skirts split and decorated with flowers, also fed the parade.

Between darkness and light in the choice of color shades, play of contrast between materials, Prada plays on polarities for this season.

Prada also decided to play the card of inclusiveness. Models, beginners or trans, the faces that presented this new collection were different and illustrated, once again, the growing place of diversity in this world of fashion remained so long archaic.
