Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon is Marc Jacobs’ new muse

Lourdes Leon, daughter of Madonna and Carlos Leon, is the new face of Marc Jacobs for his new colorful spring 2021 collection.

 

On Instagram, the 24-year-old was already posting previews of the first pieces of the collection. With bright colors, jewelry with a logo or sneakers with a message, Lourdes Leon successfully embodies the freshness of this new collection.

 

Her bright red hair boldly matches the floral and spring tones chosen by designer Marc Jacobs, who wanted to revisit the 90s for this spring 2021 collection. With its rainbow socks and red pumps, the collection takes on the allure of Dorothée in The Wizard of Oz.

 

 

It’s a long story between Marc and Madonna, so it made sense for us to make Lourdes the face of this campaign, as it perfectly represents the brand’s youthful spirit and uncompromising sense of individuality,” explains a release.

 

Challenging the codes of modeling

 

Eager to break the codes, Lourdes Leon made a name for herself during the 2018 Converse campaign after deciding not to wax her armpits, campaigning for freedom from the aesthetic constraints imposed on women. In this new campaign for Marc Jacobs, Lourdes reaffirms her feminist commitments and proudly wears her natural armpits.

 

At the end of January, Lourdes Leon posed in her underwear for the collaboration between Parade and Juicy Couture, and was the face of the Stella McCartney perfume line, as well as the Gypsy Sport brand.

 

Lourdes Leon made her mark during an art show for the house of Desigual in 2019, at the Art Basel in Miami. Madonna’s daughter celebrated the difference with a stunning arrival on the catwalk, followed by a wild dance, before undressing with the other models and mimicking a body waltz.
