LVMH appoints Damien Bertrand CEO of Loro Piana

Damien Bertrand, current CEO of Dior, will take over the reins of the Italian brand Loro Piana as of November 15, 2021.

Damien Bertrand succeeds Fabio d’Angelantonio as CEO of Italian luxury brand Loro Piana. A graduate of HEC, Damien Bertrand cut his teeth at the L’Oreal group and spent five years as CEO of the Dior house.

After Loro Piana was acquired by LVMH in 2013, the brand expanded by deploying boutiques in luxury shopping districts such as Avenue Montaigne in Paris or Ginza in Tokyo. But the pandemic has come and gone and impacted the brand.

That’s why Loro Piana wants to rebound and attract a younger audience. Indeed, the brand has a base of committed but aging buyers and is looking to develop its target to younger categories. In this sense, it launched its first ever collaboration in October with Japanese streetwear star Hiroshi Fujiwara, with the aim of reaching a different type of customer.

The brand, known for its suede shoes and cashmere ready-to-wear, is also looking to expand its presence in the lucrative high-end handbag market.
