[Luxus+ Magazine] René Piechulek triumphs at the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe

One of the most anticipated horse races of the year, the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, was held yesterday at the Longchamps racecourse. The race, which pitted the world’s top 15 thoroughbreds against each other, was won by the German horse Torquator Tasso, ridden by jockey René Piechulek.

 

A legendary race was held yesterday on the Longchamps racecourse in Paris. The Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, founded in 1920, was held for the 100th time. This race, sponsored by the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club since 2008 and considered the most prestigious in the world in terms of quality, pits fifteen of the world’s best thoroughbreds, both males and females, against each other over a distance of 2,400 metres.

 

This year’s winner of the race took home €2,857,000 of the €5 million prize money.
