Specialising in luxury manufacturing, packaging and co-packing, Superga Beauty was created by combining the activities of BPS and Manifesto Factory in July 2019. Since then, the subsidiary of the Superga Invest group has continued to develop and, in order to accelerate its growth, it is multiplying its investments. The most recent being the purchase of the Cosmeurop cosmetics production site from L’Oréal last December.

Superga’s activity is made up of 3 divisions : subcontracting (manufacture of care and perfume products, filling, packaging, co-packing), promotion and retail (design and manufacture of packaging, luggage, brushes and applicators) and full service (custom manufacturing, white labels, Full Buy).

Booming logistics and production capacity consolidation

The company has five industrial sites based in the Hauts-de-France ( BPS Artois, BPS 02, BPS Fragrances, BPS Factory, BPS 60 ). BPS Artois is the central site of the group and was formerly the former Caterpillar factory in Monchy-le-Preux. The site offers 12,000 m2 of space and was acquired in 2019 for 6 million euros.

This purchase enabled the company to acquire new production capacities and new skills, in particular thanks to significant storage capacities.

“It’s a project that has undertaken an unprecedented investment plan in 2019 and 2020 to perpetuate our know-how, our competitiveness and our French roots in the service of our customers,” said Leslie Bréau-Meniger, Managing Director of  Superga Beauty.

The capacity of the workshop that could be reached in the near future will be 16 production lines dedicated to the filling of skincare creams, perfumes and make-up. In addition, 1 million euros will be invested in this project, a project that will create around twenty jobs.

It should be noted that three of these lines are already equipped with an MES tool that allows production data to be collected in real time. The aim is to supply this technology to all the site’s production lines and then to the 4 other sites in the Hauts-de-France region. The general data collection would be carried out with a Cloud center.

With this technology, the process is simplified: the pieces of products stored on the site are thus accompanied by respective screens indicating in real time the productivity, according to the various stages: dusting, filling, marking, labelling, envissage, clipping, packaging?

“We are going to open a new unit dedicated to make-up, in particular to the application of lipstick and sticks on the BPS Artois site. The project concerns the setting up of two lines for large and small series. This will open other perspectives than just the skincare and perfume sectors”, she continued.

Superga Beauty also has a fleet of 3D printers that allow us to manufacture objects in volume to set up the machines without having to wait for the model of the product to be packaged.

Reinforcement of industrial activities in perfume

Previously owned by cosmetics giant L’Oréal when it acquired the fragrance division of the Clarins group, the Cosmeurop site will provide Superga Beauty with a site entirely dedicated to the industrial production of perfume. The completion of this operation is scheduled for spring 2021.

It should be noted that L’Oréal has undertaken to remain a partner of the site for a minimum period of 3 years, according to AFP.

The production of this site thus concerns all liquid perfumed products (eau de toilette, eau de parfum, perfumes, body lotions, deodorants, etc.). ) of the Azzaro and Mugler brands. It has a production capacity of 11 lines and a team of 176 employees who control the mixing, maceration, glazing/filtration, colouring, quality control and packaging operations.

A valuable new customer portfolio

Many luxury brands use Superga Beauty for the subcontracting and packaging of their products. Among them : Filorga, L’Occitane, L’Oréal, Christian Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent, Clarins, Mauboussin, Pierre Fabre or Sephora.

“Agility, adaptability, responsiveness, quality, speed”.

These are the words of Hervé Allais, company director, to describe the company’s added value.

He adds : “The big brands can’t have fun opening factories for every product they launch, and they can’t be sure it’s going to work. It is simpler and more efficient for them to send us their components and have us do the bottling.

Superga Beauty and sustainability

Superga Beauty also counts sustainability and environmental impact among its core values. It strives to improve the social performance of its activities and multiple its actions in its fields.

For example, the company is committed to the prevention of breast cancer and organises screening campaigns. It also offers professional reintegration programmes for women who are victims of domestic violence.

It is also reducing its use of water in its industrial sites and for the protection of the environment and the promotion of sustainable development on a global scale with the Albert II Foundation.

A few figures …

Thanks to its 40 filling lines, its 45,000 m2 of industrial space and its 350 employees spread throughout France, Europe and Asia, Superga Beauty produces around 70 million pieces per year. Superga Beauty is not the only subsidiary of Superga Invest, a group that also owns subsidiaries in the fashion, luxury goods and household appliances sectors.

In total, Superga Invest has a turnover of €100 million and employs nearly 1,000 people worldwide.
