The Bernardaud house is once again embarking on a collaboration with the Brazilian designers Campana to create unique furniture, reserved for a very special clientele and available in only 8 copies worldwide.

The house Bernardaud and the stars of Brazilian design join forces a second time to create something unique and never before created: a limited series of furniture mixing porcelain and wood.

This marriage of universes and materials used makes the president of the house admire the assembly of these pieces: “It is the honor of our family to mix the talents to try to sublimate all these materials” , says Michel Bernardaud, CEO of porcelaines Bernardaud. “What is interesting about this furniture is that there is a combination of different materials. That’s what makes it so charming and interesting. It’s a staging of local know-how with a Brazilian touch” .

For the creation of these cabinets and chests born from this triple collaboration, the art of porcelain manages to marry perfectly with the different woods of the feuillardiers, worked with delicacy and precision to keep the most beautiful aspects, especially to meet the requirements of their creators but especially for their future buyers who have the means, for a price estimated at tens of thousands of euros and more.

According to Alain Dupasquier, a leafy and artistic craftsman, this is a real “artistic challenge“: “We start from a really raw material and the idea is to marry it as well as possible with a porcelain which is something very fine and very subtle, while the chestnut tree comes out of the forest“, he explains.

This collaboration, which began five years ago, will have required “hundreds or even thousands of working hours” , says Michel Bernardaud, in order to achieve such a sophisticated and top-of-the-range result. It was an enriching experience that allowed them to combine their own craftsmanship with that of the chestnut leaf makers of Haute-Vienne, who had to adapt pieces of chestnut trees to the requirements of the Campana brothers: “These are works of art that we are proud of and that can allow us to enter a new universe, the world of decoration, which can offer us other perspectives on other projects” , he adds.

And if the health crisis has had a significant impact in France and on the economic situation, this does not discourage the president of the Bernardaud firm who remains hopeful for the future: “In difficult times like the one we are living through, we must continue to project ourselves forward” .
