Chanel Cancels Its Cruise Fashion Show Set for May

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Chanel announced Tuesday the cancellation of its cruise fashion show scheduled for May 7 in Capri, southern Italy, due to the evolution of the coronavirus epidemic.

Chanel has taken the decision not to present its 2020/21 cruise fashion show as originally planned in Capri on May 7, 2020, as the health and well-being of our teams and guests is our main concern,” the luxury house said in a statement.

This decision, which follows those of Gucci, Dior, Armani and Prada, logically indicates a white season this spring. The brand is considering alternatives to present its collection in Capri “at a later date and in a different form.

Usually, the cruise shows of the major brands are organized in the spring, often abroad, outside of the annual Fashion Week.

In February, Chanel had already announced the postponement of another fashion show scheduled for May in China because of Covid-19.
