Cosmetics brand L’Oréal Paris celebrated women’s empowerment with a series of activities in Riyadh City Boulevard in Saudi Arabia.

L’Oréal celebrates the power of women and their empowerment at an event in Riyadh City, Saudi Arabia. The private event brought together more than 100 female influencers from the region and opened with a projection on 82 screens to display the brand’s manifesto and a “Lessons of Worth” testimonial from its Saudi spokesperson, singer and actress Aseel Omran.

Aseel Omran, accompanied by two L’Oréal regional managers, held a debate on women’s empowerment. Her personal journey, her connection to L’Oréal Paris and what the company’s famous slogan “Because You’re Worth It” means to her were at the heart of the conference. “Everything I said in this campaign came sincerely from my heart because in each of us, as women, we have been confronted with this situation that has hurt us the most, but has taught us so much and made us stronger,” explained Aseel Omran.

Maya Ghantous, L’Oréal’s MENA product director, said the brand’s slogan recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and was the first in the world to emphasise the importance of self-worth. For the record, it was created in 1971 by Ilon Specht, a 23-year-old copywriter at the McCann advertising agency.

At the time, it seemed revolutionary because of its bold message and the presence of a female voice. At the time, most ads for women’s products featured a male voice, which was considered more authoritative. “The slogan empowers women of all ages and backgrounds to believe in their beauty and worth,” adds Ghantous.
