The luxury car manufacturer Lamborghini has recorded the best half-year in its history and has increased its sales by 37% compared to the same period last year.
The Italian car manufacturer Lamborghini has set a new all-time record in its existence. With 4,852 vehicles sold in the first half of 2021 and a growth of 37% compared to the data for the same period in 2020, Lamborghini announces a strong recovery.
“The first half of 2021 is making Lamborghini history: global sales recorded from January to June have reached a record level“, the Italian brand said in a statement https://osterreichische-apotheke.com.
The luxury automaker‘s progress extends to each of its models, and in detail, Lamborghini says that the Urus SUV leads its sales for the six-month period with 2,796 units registered between January and June 2021, an increase of 35 percent.
The Huracán is the second best-selling vehicle by Lamborghini this semester with 1,532 units, an increase of 46%. Another of the brand’s vehicles stood out during this period: the Aventador. With 524 units sold, the supercar gained 21%.
The geographical distribution of Lamborghini sales remained broadly homogeneous during the first half of the year and, not surprisingly, it is the US market that comes out on top with 1,520 sales. The country of Uncle Sam is well ahead of China, which comes in second place with 563 units.
The third place is occupied by Germany, which closes the gap with 391 units sold, closely followed by the United Kingdom and its 318 registrations. Japan takes fifth place with 258 sales, followed by the Middle East with 226 units. Finally, Italy recorded 197 transactions and thus came in seventh place.
“This exceptional result represents a double confirmation for us“, says Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann. “It is not only a proof of the solidity and strength of this brand, which is enjoying increasing attractiveness, despite a period of difficulties and uncertainties. It is further proof that our industrial plan on the path to the future electrification of our product range has indeed been received, which is why we will invest more than one and a half billion by 2024“.
Among the upcoming projects for the brand, the end of the supercar launched in 2011, the Aventador, paves the way for its hybrid successor, the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae, which is expected to hit the roads as early as 2023. The Huracán STO also hits the market this summer and is based on the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO and the award-winning La Huracán GT3 EVO.
“Lamborghini’s course is set for a period of great transformation, where technological innovation and sustainability will go hand in hand with attention to the best performance as well as fidelity to the brand’s DNA,” adds Stephan Winkelmann.
The carmaker does not intend to stop there and is already anticipating “positive forecasts” for the next six months, and adds that it has received many orders that will guarantee a good production rate until 2022.
