Luxury group Lalique Group has released its unaudited interim results for fiscal 2022. And the numbers speak for themselves: after returning to profit in 2021, Lalique Group went even further ahead in 2022.
Lalique Group, the Swiss group specializing in the creation, development, marketing and distribution of crystal products worldwide, yesterday released its provisional unaudited key figures for fiscal 2022.
After encouraging results in 2021, Lalique Group announced, without further details, a strong overall increase in sales in fiscal 2022. This is due to contributions from all business areas, which have recorded double-digit growth rates.
As a result, the Lalique Group’s operating income increased by about 20% to 170 million euros. This figure includes one-time income of 1.7 million euros generated in the first half of 2022 in connection with a closed court case.
The operating result (EBIT), on the other hand, rose to around 13.2 million euros in 2022, compared with 9.6 million euros in the previous year. The EBIT margin (gross return) thus increases from 6.8% to 7.7%. Excluding the extraordinary income of 1.7 million euros, the Lalique Group recorded an increase in EBIT in fiscal year 2022 of approximately 19%, amounting to approximately 11.5 million euros, with an EBIT margin of approximately 6.8%.
Expansion of production capacity
There was a change in expenses, reflecting “the development of the business, the re-intensification of marketing and distribution activities as well as the partial reduction of the cost base in the previous year due to containment-related closures”, the group said in a statement.
The group also strengthened its production capacity by investing in a more efficient and powerful furnace for the crystal factory, and thus increased the resources allocated to cold crystal manufacturing.
Personnel expenses amounted to around 42 million euros, an increase of around 22% compared with the previous year. Other operating expenses rose by around 28% to approximately 27.8 million euros. Depreciation, amortization and value adjustments increased by approximately 10% to approximately 15.7 million Euro.
On April 19, 2023, the Lalique Group will publish the final audited financial figures for the year 2022.
