The champagne brand of the LVMH group has collaborated for the second time with Lady Gaga. In a passionate clip directed by Woodkid, the versatile artist and Dom Pérignon celebrate work and creation, notions that are dear to them.

Music, cinema, cosmetics…Lady Gaga wears an impressive number of hats, always with great talent and success. And in recent years, she continues to expand her field of action.

After collaborating in 2021 with Dom Pérignon to launch her own bottle, the actress has once again lent her face to the famous champagne brand. She is promoting its new vintage, the Dom Pérignon Vintage 2013. The actress takes the stage in a black and white clip directed by French singer-songwriter Yoann Lemoine, also known as Woodkid. Sitting at her piano in a dark room, she writes and plays a melody, punctuated by the sound of string instruments. Crescendo, the music reaches its climax while a troupe of sculptural dancers come to life in the cloisters of a French monastery.

In this new chapter of their collaboration, Dom Pérignon and Lady Gaga celebrate “the devotion to the work of creation”, which appears as a source of inspiration and elevation. In a choreography by the Belgian Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, the characters in search of harmony embody a strong message : creation is the result of passionate and tedious work, not a sudden inspiration.

Work is a key concept for the Dom Pérignon brand. In the 17th century, the monk of the same name, Dom Pierre Pérignon, belonged to the Benedictine order, whose motto is “ora et labora” (pray and work, in Latin), which he respected and which remains the guiding philosophy of the house. Moreover, it was at the Abbey of Saint-Pierre d’Hautvillers, where the monk resided, that the short film was shot, making the message even more evocative.

“This second collaboration was more about the feeling and the particularity of the creation, which means it can be a fantasy, a reality, something very simple or something really grand”, Lady Gaga explains in an interview with British magazine Tatler. “We decided to start from the abbey and deal with the notion of time – the rhythm, the taste, the timeless aspect of creation”, adds Vincent Chaperon, Dom Pérignon’s head cellarman.

Lady Gaga is definitely not resting on her laurels. In addition to this clip, she will appear in 2024 alongside Joaquim Phoenix in the second Joker. A beast of work.
