For the very first time, Lacoste brings its famous crocodile to life in a special holiday mini animation film with an offbeat tone.
Lacoste brings its long-standing emblem, the crocodile, to life under the wise hands of designer and producer Elsa Muse (Studio Mumuse). The ingenious crocodile uses his inventiveness to create a machine to wrap Lacoste Christmas gifts.
To imagine the character of the Crocodile, Elsa Muse immersed herself in the story of René Lacoste. From the drawing to the final realization, it was a meticulous work since all the elements of the film were made in miniature, at the scale 1/7. Perfume bottles, sculpted and articulated crocodile, everything was created in silicone and painted by hand, not to mention the clothes, also made by hand : it took two months to build all the components of the set.
The campaign incorporates numerous references to the brand’s heritage and universe. The Crocodile alludes to the tennis player René Lacoste, creator of the brand in 1933 and a great champion, who was nicknamed so by his peers, thanks to his tenacity and boldness. He is dressed in pants and a sweater from the Fall/Winter 2021 collection, a silhouette completed by the new L001 sneakers. No detail has been left to chance. Indeed, we discover in the apartment, the replica of the illustrious machine to throw the balls, imagined and patented by Rene Lacoste, trophies and many tennis rackets.
