Kering announces the opening of a brand new operations center in the town of Wayne, New Jersey.
The Kering luxury group is modernizing and opening a new office, which will replace the old facilities in the town of Secaucus. This center will serve, among other things, as the North American operations center.
This relocation of its offices in Wayne is part of an investment strategy in the region, in response to the increased demand for Kering homes in the market. With the continued growth of its various houses such as Gucci, Saint Laurent, Bottega Veneta, Balenciaga, or even Alexander McQueen, these new facilities allow Kering to be closer to its homes and to adapt to all strategic changes.
Kering states that these changes contribute to the growth in volume, while the future profits will allow it to continue Kering‘s growing success in the years to come.
“Wayne is an incredible achievement for Kering Americas. The current pandemic presents many challenges, but our employees continue to persevere with creativity and resilience. We have had the opportunity to reflect, re-equip and respond so that we can work better than ever before,” says Kering Group CEO Jean-François Palus.
He concludes by emphasizing the strategic advantages of these changes:”The United States is a key country for the group, and we are delighted not only to better serve our clients in this market but also to invest more in this region and attract the best talent”.
The new Kering offices in Wayne include a Tech Bar, as well as a Retail Lab to validate new in-store technical solutions to better manage the IT activities of retailers and end-users in the region. Technology is an integral part of this new investment by the luxury group. The building located in Wayne was designed with a low level of aesthetic nuisance, focusing on the functional and technological aspects.
“Our new headquarters features technological advances that place us at the forefront of supporting our Houses and their expanding retail networks. Wayne gives us the ability to support our ambition to achieve peak performance, fostering both short-term improvements and long-term transformation,” said Laurent Claquin, President of Kering Americas.
The building’s interior was designed by the architectural firm HLW, combining elements of the French architectural style with the use of simple materials and a neutral color palette. This balance between sophistication and natural warmth is directly inspired by the Kering offices in Paris. A 50-foot (just over 15 meters) staircase links the upper floor and the Café, and the large 24-foot (approximately 7 meters) high windows offer a view directly onto a nearby golf course.
This new operations center is also part of the sustainability strategy of the Kering luxury group. The space occupied in Wayne is LEED Gold certified. The offices have been designed to ensure the entrance of natural light and nature, illustrating Kering‘s commitment to a healthier workplace for employees.
Regarding the interior design, Mr. Claquin added: “The experience of our employees’ work and private lives remains our priority. Our Wayne facility offers best-in-class facilities focused on preserving safety, well-being, and community, which has proven to be of utmost importance in these challenging times“.
This construction project, just completed this summer, is the second-largest structure in Wayne Township and follows other recent developments in the area.
