Kempinski Hotels has opened its 21st luxury hotel in China, the first to be located in Shandong Province. The Kempinski Hotel Jinan, located atop the 339-metre-high YUNDING building, houses 314 rooms and suites and overlooks the city of Jinan, the famous “City of Springs”.

Immersed in the heart of the city, guests will have the opportunity to experience the depth of Shandong‘s rich history, the breadth of China’s thriving culture, accompanied by timeless Kempinski-style hospitality with a distinctly European twist.

Designed by Wimberly Interiors, the Kempinski Hotel Jinan was inspired by a unique natural environment and features a palette of rich stones, emerald greens and golden accents. The colour spectrum and design of this hotel have been combined with the traditional elements of the “Six Arts“, education in Chinese culture, incorporating rituals, music and calligraphy, which are central to this culture. The hotel pays close attention to the cultural environment in which Jinan is located, taking care to enhance every detail of its interior. Also, traditional Chinese paintings will welcome you at the entrance, accompanied by Jinan-style ceramic artworks, scattered throughout the hotel.

With 314 rooms, all equipped with dressing rooms, dining areas, desks and luxury bedding, the Kempinski Hotel Jinan offers guests a breathtaking view of the city skyline through its large, bright French windows. Located south of the Yellow River, Jinan is widely known as the City of Springs, a popular destination for its abundance of natural water sources, hospitality and welcoming culture.

Finally, the hotel will feature six restaurants and bars offering a diverse range of typical local dishes. For example: The View will offer a Shandong cuisine catering service to its guests, filled with traditional specialities well known in the region. The Spring Palace, on the other hand, is themed on the calligraphy of the “Six Arts”. Also offering authentic specialties, it reflects the essence of Cantonese cuisine, where guests can dine in seven private rooms, and then enjoy the lobby lounge, also serving a variety of local cocktails. As an added bonus, the Deli Cafe, located inside the Kempinski Hotel Jinan, restores the glamour of cafes in Europe, where in the heart of China, you can purchase several European specialties such as bread, pastries and coffee.

In the future, the hotel also plans to offer a health and spa centre, called “Kempinski The Spa“, with an infinity pool, gym and yoga.
