The actor’s presence in the Savage x Fenty by Rihanna presentation on Amazon Prime is causing a heated debate on social media.
The Savage x Fenty by Rihanna lingerie show was uploaded to Amazon Prime at midnight yesterday, Wednesday 9 November. It shows Johnny Depp in front of the camera, wearing make-up, a dark jacket and trousers and surrounded by dancers, in the middle of a forest.
While many celebrities have already paraded for the show, Johnny Depp made history as “the first man to take part in this ‘star’ moment”. In the Vol. 3 edition of the show, it was Cindy Crawford and Erykah Badu who appeared.

The presence of the actor, who was recently in the midst of a high-profile trial against his ex-girlfriend Amber Heard, who accused him of domestic violence, did not go unnoticed. Since the announcement and broadcast of the show, Rihanna’s fans have been left wondering why the singer, herself assaulted by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown in 2009, invited the actor. In addition, in June, jurors in the trial between the ex-spouses ordered Johnny Depp to pay the actress $2 million for defamation, which he refuses to do.
“One minute she’s not performing at the Super Bowl in solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and the next minute she announces that she will and for some reason she invited Johnny Depp to be on her show. Where’s the moral of the story?” commented one Twitter user. Olly Alexander, lead singer of the British band Years and Years, who posed for the brand’s 2022 Valentine’s Day campaign, said on the same social network: “Thanks, but after hearing about this I won’t be wearing the brand anymore.”
