After his “AMOUR” collection, Jacquemus returns with “La Montagne”. And for this occasion, the designer surprised with the simplicity of his decor. A look back at the fashion show that took place last night in Paris.
The designer is used to strong and memorable settings, such as the lavender and wheat fields in his latest collection “AMOUR”. But for “La Montagne”, Jacquemus invited its 108 guests to La Cité du Cinéma in Seine-Saint-Denis, where they discovered a set representing an abstract mountain.
“For this collection, after such a special year, I wanted to gather people inside and share a fashion moment together” explains Jacquemus a few minutes before the show, “I wanted to focus on the clothes, the silhouette, the colours, the fabrics, the details and the energy of the models.”
So there was no set but simply a green carpet topped by a white light. Two colours reminiscent of nature and the mountains.
And this configuration makes room for the clothes. With this collection, there are no big surprises. One immediately recognises the Jacquemus touch. The colours are bright, the cuts asymmetrical and offbeat. Nevertheless, we find materials that are specific to the theme of the collection, such as bags made of wool, trousers reminiscent of the socks worn by hikers, in materials that are stiffer than what the designer usually offers.
The designer had started several weeks ago to unveil some photos of the “La Montagne” collection on Instagram through 6 posts: one pink, one red, one orange, one blue, one green, and one yellow. The photos show the main accessories of the new collection, notably the bags and the headwear.

On the model side, Kendall Jenner created a surprise. The second to last of the Kardashian family had never before walked the runway for the designer. On the catwalk, we find Bella Hadid, Adut Akech or Imaan Hammam.

A special feature of this show was the mix of models. Simon Porte Jacquemus called on models of all sizes, which is extremely rare in the fashion world and particularly in Paris.
In addition to a cast of models that made people talk, Jacquemus welcomed many celebrities to the show. Among them were the singer Rosalia, Angèle, A$AP Nast, Damso and SCH. Many influencers were also present, such as Léna Situations or Just Riadh.
