International Women’s Rights Day will take place on March 8. On this occasion, several major brands have unveiled their feminist and committed capsules.

International Women’s Rights Day, celebrating the struggle for women’s rights and against inequalities with men, will be held every year on March 8. This year, more than ever before, fashion is committed through capsule collections dedicated to the celebration of this day, around the values of equality, diversity, and sisterhood.

Levi’s x Marrisa Wilson NY

Denim specialist, Levi’s has teamed up with the talented designer Marrisa Wilson, founder of the eponymous brand, to celebrate the black woman with a capsule collection containing two emblematic Levi’s pieces revisited by the Guyanese American designer for the occasion: Ribcage Bootcut jeans and the Heritage Trucker jacket. This collection is committed to diversity and feminism and includes the color yellow, which is widely used by Marrisa Wilson. Featuring R&B song lyrics embroidered with yellow thread, the textures are designed to blend beautifully with a black woman’s hair, to highlight the beauty of the black woman. The designer believes that her work “aims to create a global community of diverse and connected women,” while Levi’s Jen By’s president, Levi’s Jen By, wants to celebrate “emerging black and Métis creators.

The Levi’s x Marrisa Wilson NY collection will be available as of March 8 on Levi’s website for $198 for the jeans and $268 for the jacket.

Zadig and Voltaire x Band of Sisters

The French brand Zadig & Voltaire is celebrating the sorority this year with its capsule, named Zadig Sisters, in collaboration with the Band of Sisters (BOSS) collective. Born in 2014, this collective of more than 200 women is committed to fighting inequality and violence against women. The capsule consists of a denim jacket, a jersey t-shirt, and a hoodie, and each piece features a slogan such as “Women boss rule the world” or “Stronger Together“. The pieces of the capsule are also printed with drawings, made by a member of the collective, Natacha Pachal. The drawings represent real women, friends or muses of the artistic director Cecilia Bönström.

Available from March 8th, the capsule will be on sale online and in stores.

Ba&sh x Women Safe & Children Institute

The French brand Ba&sh imagined a t-shirt with the slogan “Women are heroines. Every Day“. While violence against women has increased by 30% since the health crisis, Ba&sh is dedicating this t-shirt, which looks like a t-shirt from the late 60s and 70s, sleeveless, to everyday women, and all profits will be donated to the organization Women Safe & Children Institute, with which Ba&sh is accustomed to collaborating, collecting so far nearly €150,000.

The t-shirt is available since February 24th in stores and on Ba&sh website, for a price of 50€.

Net-à-porter x Women for Women International

The luxury ready-to-wear website Net-à-porter celebrates Women’s Rights Day as it does every year, and for the occasion, the brand unveiled a capsule in collaboration with Women for Women International. The collection includes jewelry designed by Roxanne Assoulin and Alighieri, decorative objects signed by Anissa Kermiche, and a range of 9 t-shirts. To design these 9 t-shirts, the Net-à-porter website asked designers Stella McCartney, Anya Hindmarch, Jennifer Fisher, and Simone Rocha to give their vision of feminism and women’s emancipation. The result is an exquisite result that stylishly celebrates feminine solidarity and women’s empowerment. All profits from the capsule will be donated to Women for Women International, in its struggle to help women living in countries at war. The brand also announces that until March 8, an additional $1 will be donated for each publication on the social networks Instagram and TikTok bearing the hashtag #PowerToChange, Net-a-porter.

The capsule is already on sale on the Net-à-porter.com website.

Mango x Ana Leovy

Ready-to-wear brand Mango partners with Mexican artist Ana Leovy for a capsule containing two T-shirts and a cotton bag. This capsule carries the values of equality, diversity, but also the defense of the environment. Indeed, designed entirely from sustainable materials, the brand is committed to ensuring that the funds raised by the collection are donated in full to the Vicente Ferrer Foundation, an association supported by Mango since 2005 and which fights against the inequalities suffered by women living in rural communities in southern India.

The collection is already available on Mango.com.
