The Gelato Festival World elected the best ice cream makers in the world, an opportunity to discover new flavors while facing the summer temperatures.
Since 2019, Italians and their love of gelato has led them to elect the best gelato makers in the world, awarded by the Gelato Festival World Ranking. Since 2010, this prestigious competition awards artisan gelato makers, based on a complex multi-year ranking system. The Gelato Festival World Ranking is the result of a partnership between Gelato Festival, Carpigiani and Sigep IEG Expos. Artisans are judged on several criteria, including technique, quality and combination of ingredients, and taste.
And this year, Marco Venturino, owner of the ice cream parlour I Giardini di Marzo, located in the town of Varazze, in the province of Savona, was named best artisan ice cream maker, receiving three crowns for his Bocca di Rosa ice cream. This frozen dessert is made of milk, white chocolate and a base of homemade rose water.
