The amount of the investment, qualified as “significant”, has not been made public. The site, located south of the Rhône-Alpes metropolis, will accommodate two additional printing lines.

The plant will be reconfigured as three buildings “articulated around green patios” and “linked together by an overhead bridge”. A new corporate restaurant will be created and the logistics areas will be renovated. The luxury textile business, Holding Textile Hermès, employs 860 people at nine sites in France. Pierre-Bénite welcomes alone 460.

This investment will create 120 jobs in the textile sector, the group said, without quantifying precisely its impact on the Lyon site.■
