Hermès continues to resist the coronavirus crisis with an acceleration of its sales in the first quarter, driven by strong demand in Asia, recovery in America and good resistance in Europe.

For the first quarter as a whole, the saddler saw sales rise 44% at constant exchange rates to 2.08 billion euros, beating analysts’ expectations for a 24% increase.

Sales in Asia excluding Japan almost doubled year-on-year, with the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions and the reopening of shops.
