Hennessy is opening its Editions Rares workshop in Cognac to the public for the first time. An opportunity to discover the know-how and the elaboration of cognac.
On the occasion of the “Journées du Patrimoine” to be held on September 18 and 19, 2021, Hennessy will open the doors of its Rare Editions workshop. This place is dedicated to the preparation and production of certain exceptional decanters of the House.
In the heart of the historic district of Cognac, Hennessy is offering the public the opportunity to discover this unique place, as well as the people involved in this traditional know-how. The program includes a historical introduction to the House and this confidential place, followed by a tour structured in 4 stages.
First, calligraphy, then the written heritage (including letters by Richard Hennessy), the laying of the threads and finally the assembly of the rings (laying the rings on the H8 decanter created for the 250th anniversary of the House).
In addition to the original tours of the Atelier des Editions Rares, the Hennessy Initiation tour will also be available throughout the weekend. This is a guided tour to discover the different stages of cognac production: a visit to the cellars to learn about the art of ageing eaux-de-vie, with the final step being the discovery of the different ways of tasting cognacs.
